JULUKA is a magazine produced in the United States for those interested in South Africa. Every other month, our readership of approximately 20,000 South Africans and interested Americans living in the US and Canada enjoy the wit and wisdom of JULUKA. Readers represent a wide spectrum of professions, interests, and political views.
JULUKA's editorial covers a wide range of topics pertaining to the rainbow cultcha, including; political news, personal experiences, topical news, sport, legal advice, health, finance, recreational activities and events, recipes and travel. The magazine is designed to appeal to a diverse audience, providing both a forum for the exchange of ideas as well as a great resource for useful information and helpful advice.
JULUKA helps South Africans adapt to life in a new country, while it provides a forum for networking and the exchange of ideas, opinions and resources.

Contenders Emerge For The Next President Of South Africa

There are still four years to go, but speculation is already mounting as to who might succeed Thabo Mbeki as South Africa's third democratically elected President. Candidates are already beginning their campaign for the Presidency and the build-up over the next four years is likely to prove both vigorous and potentially damaging to the ruling party. As factions emerge, so do tensions but the rise to prominence of a variety of diverse personalities will make this debate one of the most hotly contested events in South Africa's recent political history.

Barclays Bank Back with a Bang: The Biggest Investment Deal in SA History

The Minister of Finance, Trevor Manuel, has announced that the bid by Barclays Bank to buy 60% of ABSA Bank may proceed. This transaction will give rise to an inflow of about a R33 billion (about $5.5 billion) to the South African economy. This transaction would be the biggest single acquisition and the largest FDI deal in SA history.
