JOHN HATTINGH: Designed for Winning
By Dorianne Berry
Just imagine you are the undisputed winner of a national high school's athletic championship, and your nearest rivel challenges you because you have an "unfair advantage." You are an amputee and you win. Your "unfair advantage," it turns out, is a prosthesis. This is just one of the anecdotes, of his many patients, that gave John Hattingh enormous satisfaction.
John is the owner of North West Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinic in Seattle...

"Albert Einstein, when asked what he considered to be the most powerful force in the universe, answered: 'Compound Interest!' What you have become is the price you paid to get what you used to want." - Mignon McLaughlin
Invest a little for longer and you will be better off than investing more for shorter! One hears this kind of dictum often; it also frequently wafts past one's senses without one really appreciating the intrinsic dynamics of the concept. Madiba Celebrates In Style
by Charlene Avis
THE MADIBA EXPERIENCE
South African-owned Madiba Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY, celebrates their seven-year anniversary this month, 7 years in 7 days. "We're having a week-long bash and all are invited to come and celebrate our 7th year, while enjoying great food, drinks and exceptional entertainment, " says proud Papa Mark Henegan.
Whilst in New York recently, I needed my Madiba fix, so we found ourselves in Brooklyn to sample some lekker traditional cuisine. Never disappointed, we thoroughly enjoyed the bobotie (curried mince baked with egg custard topping) and mutton Durban Bunny Chow (saucy curry served in a quarter loaf of white bread), followed by one of the tastiest milktarts (cinnamon flavored homemade custard tart) ever. South African wines flowed, followed by Amarula Dom Pedros to complete the meal.
But it's not just the food at Madiba that makes it so special...it's the people...
